Morgan's Obituary

Morgan Brooke Ingram, 26, of Bangor, formerly of Stevensville, passed away on Wednesday evening, September 5, 2007, due to injuries from a car accident. Morgan was born to Jerry and Sarah (Dale) Ingram on August 14, 1981 in St. Joseph. She graduated from Lakeshore High School in 2000. She was a senior at Western Michigan University completing her degree in elementary education. She also worked at Chemical Bank as a teller while attending college. Morgan was a happy person and loved life. She was a very caring, thoughtful, unselfish person. She was always trying to make everyone else’s life happier and easier. She loved drag racing, an activity she shared with the love of her life, Chris Smith. He involved her in every aspect of Smith Motorsports and taught her how to work on the dragster. She loved being a girl but at the track she could be found with a red shop rag in her back pocket. Morgan and her mom were best friends. Morgan was her father’s hockey buddy. They attended many hockey games and football games at the University of Michigan. Morgan is survived by her, parents, Jerry and Sarah Ingram of Stevensville; boyfriend, Chris Smith of Bangor; brother Jerimy (Ally) Ingram, nephews, Devin and Austin Ingram were her “boys”, grandparents, Jauretta (Paul) Moore of Hillsdale, MI and Robert and Brenda Pease of Pittsford, MI; uncles, her “special buddy” Mark Dale of Osseo, MI and Bob Dale of Stevensville; aunts, Donna (Al) Rutledge of Watervliet, Sandra Ingram of St. Joseph, Karen (Larry) Weers of Homer, MI, and Ellen Holdridge of Homer, MI; Her “other mom and dad”, Gary and Mary Ann Smith, and numerous cousins. Morgan had a multitude of friends. Very special racing friends and the Torco crew. Her cat, Micky was her “baby” for 17 years. Morgan was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Bennie Ingram and Robert P. Dale. She was happy and loved life. She always had a smile. She leaves happy memories to everyone who knew her. She will be sadly missed. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Monday, September 10, 2007, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 718 Arbor Court, South Haven with Rev. Clint Rogas officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 3-5 P.M., on Sunday, September 9, at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph.
