Phillip's Obituary

Phillip F. Geisler, 75, of Stevensville, passed away, Thursday, January 4, 2007 at his home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Thomas Batsky officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville. Friends may call from 3:00-5:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran School or Hospice at Home. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Mr. Geisler was born July 16, 1931 in Derby, Michigan to Frank Jr. & Elsie (Tiefenbach) Geisler. He graduated from Stevensville High School and operated the family fruit & dairy farm on Lincoln Ave. before leaving to serve his country in the US Army. Upon his return from the military, Phil took a job at Bendix Corp in St. Joseph, retiring from Bosch in 1996 after 35 plus years of employment. On July 27, 1974, he married the former Peggy Davidson in Stevensville. In his free time, Phil enjoyed nature, the out of doors, and he raised pheasants for many years. Mr. Geisler is survived by his daughter Jerri (Scott) Cooley of St. Joseph; his son Doug Slentz of Elkhart, IN; two grandchildren-Chandler Graham & Christian Cooley; his brother Lester (Shirley) Geisler of Stevensville; and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Peggy on September 16, 2005, and his sister Luella Conklin on July 17, 2005.
