Don Carr

Don Carr, 78, of Coloma, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2006 at his home. Memorials may be made to the First Church of God, St. Joseph or the American Cancer Society. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Don was born December 19, 1927 in Whiteface, Texas to Carroll & Meriam (Brandon) Carr. He owned and operated Han-D-Man Remodeling in Kalamazoo for 30 years before retiring and moving to Coloma. On July 20, 2003, he married the former Mayree Crossman in St. Joseph. Don was a member of the First Church of God and was always a very happy man, even through his illness. Don loved to dance and was a great story teller. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Don is survived by his wife Mayree Crossman Carr; his daughter Tyra (Scott Welden)Carr of Columbus, OH; two grandchildren-Don Carroll Carr & Kendra Vanmeter; one great-grandson Justin Vanmeter; his mother Meriam Carr of Niles; his sister LaVoe Priest of Niles and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Carroll Carr and his sister Jackie Dinger.
