John R. Cunningham

John R. Cunningham, 92, of St. Joseph, died Sunday, October 1, 2006, at Lakeland Continuing Care Center – St. Joseph. Friends may call on the family from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 5, at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. Wade Panse officiating. Burial will take place on Friday at Evergreen Cemetery in Lansing Michigan. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation. Friends wishing to send a condolence message may do so in the guestbook at www.starks-menchinger.com. John was born on July 8, 1914, in Princeton, Indiana to Samuel & Anna (Hatfield) Cunningham. He enjoyed playing golf and working at Lake Michigan Hills golf course as a Starter and a Ranger. John also enjoyed the staff and residents of Whitcomb and playing cards and Bingo. He loved being with others, and meeting new people was always a highlight in his life. He is survived by his wife Holly Cunningham, son, David (Lee) Cunningham, of St. Joseph; Three grandsons – Jonathon (Tanya) Cunningham, of Pleasantville, NY, Samuel (Heidi)Cunningham, of West port CT., David (Camille) Cunningham, of Chicago, IL; Three great-grandchildren, Kendall, Tess, and Claire.John was preceded in death by his parents, a son John Cunningham, and a sister Betty Phillips.
