Hildegard Anna Marie Urban, 93, of St. Joseph, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2019, at Caretel Inns of Lakeland. A private family burial will take place at Hickory Bluff Cemetery, Stevensville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services. Those wishing to send a condolence online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com Hildegard was born on January 8, 1926, in Köenigsberg, Germany to Karl and Marie (Krebs) Kampf. She met Heinz Robert Urban in 1944 and on November 1, 1946, they were married in Germany. Hildegard and Heinz immigrated into the United States in August of 1949 by cargo boat into New Orleans. They then traveled to St. Louis and eventually made it to Southwest Michigan. In her early years, Hildegard enjoyed gardening. She also liked spending time with her friends, cooking and was dedicated to her family. Most of all, Hildegard cherished her grandchildren. Hildegard is survived by her children, Renate (Glenn) Wilson, Irene Hudson (Glen Zimmerman) recently deceased and Karen (Tom) White; grandchildren, Adam (Kathleen) Wilson, Evan Wilson, Aaron Wilson, Erik Wilson, Ryan (Jessica) Hudson, Camille (Drew) Lukasewski, Bret (Corrine) Zimmerman, Wade (Caroline) Zimmerman, Lindsay (Josh) Hunsberger, Amanda Schoudt, Vanessa Schoudt, Jonathan (Cheryl) White, Garrick (Cathy) White, MiKayla White and great-grandchildren, David, Claire, Connor, Alexandria, Tristan, Allie, Evie, Knox and Henry. She was preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Marie Kampf; husband, Heinz Urban and brothers, Kurt, Heinz, Walter and Horst Kampf.
